Brian Rice new assistant?

Recommended Posts

Supposedly close to being announced as new assistaint manager. Anyone else heard this one?

Used to play against him in the West Lothian league, many years ago. He was a lanky standout for Whitburn Juveniles

It's as important to freshen up the coaching staff as the playing staff, in my opinion.

Agree with this. Really need a change in approach to games.

Not heard it but if there's any truth in it I'd personally welcome it in a bid to freshen things up.

It is in this weeks press that yogi is utilising the help of his former long time assistaint manager Brian Rice and also John Collins for advice. Chipper was spotted giving some players instructions at Saturdays match.

If you look at the non-playing coaching staff (plus "consultants"), we have Hughes, Shields, Whittaker, Rice and Collins.  It would be interesting to see if they'd win a 5s competition against the best of the rest of the squad.  They'd maybe need a keeper mind you.

OFW is on the coaching staff, he is coaching himself and Mehmet,

That's what I meant by "non-playing coaching staff".  I was deliberately omitting OFW.  I figured that if he played for the coaches, no-one would be backing the players given what we've seen of Mehmet.
