Board statement

That's a pretty sobering post mate.

I was initially taken in by the new board members. I trusted Ross and his judgement and shared his enthusiasm. I thought I also sensed a huge sigh of relief from Ross, understandably so. I think he's probably long since had enough of doing endless hours to the determent of his own quality of life. If nothing else the new board members should really take on the responsibility of leading this club out of the mess, starting right now.

When we were invited to meet the new board members at EEP I said to 2 of them when leaving "you best make sure you run this club right, or we'll back", obviously I was smiling in jest, but I had real doubt at the back of my mind. I really don't want another board supporter debacle, none of us do. I still hope it's going to work out and that these guys are here for the duration like they promised. But at the end of the day if it goes tits up then we'll have roll up our sleeves again.

Agree with you mate.

One of the biggest problems the Club has had to overcome in the last few decades has been increasing apathy from the people of Dunfermline and the surrounding area.  When was the last time East End was more than half full for a game?

Since the club was saved, it's been a continuing struggle to keep the Club going, for very little reward on the park.

I think some are growing tired of being told that should be grateful to still have a Club - while there is still truth in that, the fans deserve at least to be entertained or see some sustainable progress, rather than just existing one season to the next.

There doesn't appear to be any hint of what the plan is for the team.

Hopefully the Club can rise out of this, but if it doesn't I'm not sure so many would have the stomach for the fight or ability to pull off another miraculous escape like last time

From my previous experience from gaining investors money they are not doing it to be nice but see a money making return… these German investors are wanting a return on their investment ASAP. EEP is their main aim of getting their money back and a lot more. Ross and the board will be gone soon and people come in.

Hmmm…im not sure that’s entirely fair tbh.

If the board of directors cared about us they would listen to us, which they dont. 90% of pars supporters didnt want Peter Grant as manager but they headhunted him after Ross Mcarthurs talk with his buddy at Alloa Mike Mulraney.

If they cared about us they would do what's best for the club and let Peter Grant go.

If they cared about us they wouldn't ignore the fans emails and have a go at the fans in the end paragraph in the statement. I have sent three emails to club and all have been ignored,if they cared about us they should have the courtesy to reply. I am not the only one who was been ignored.

If the board cared for us,why do me and so many fans feel disengaged from the directors and the club. You have hundreds of fans cancelling lifelines and even supporters buses getting cancelled for the next away game, this is all down to the board.

The board also have a duty of care for Peter Grant and letting this circus continue is absolutely shocking. We all wanted Peter to succeed but it hasn't worked out for both parties. The man must be emotionally and mentally drained and that's not fair on him. I think he even wanted the board to sack him after the queens game and let this nightmare end.

I think we are both saying the same thing, and I would be delighted if we were both wrong.

I have a horrible feeling about the situation we are now in.

The new owners can do whatever they like pretty much now while they are putting money in.

And if they decide to cut their losses and leave, who is there to save us this time?

The Board Statement on COWS has had 30,000 views since it was posted this afternoon. It has certainly generated a lot of debate.

What’s the deal with the stadium? I thought there were safeguards put in the place to ensure something like the scenario discussed above wasn’t feasible?

Ross and I think 7 other businessmen can buy the ground back of the germans if they decide to sell it, Ross mentioned it at the supporters meeting

Today was the dreaded vote of confidence, Grant won't be there much longer as I can see him getting even 3 or 4 games. TBH it would make sense to do it now to during the international break but it is what it is.

From my brief encounter with the Germans they seem like decent enough guys I don't think they are here to make money(maybe if we make a large transfer fee somewhere) I do think it's a bit of a project for them. However my fear is where we will be  when the initial excitement dies away for the project and they realise what a nightmare running a provincial football club in Scotland's second tier with the hassle it entails. Scottish football has had it's fair share of charlatans and if the current people move on then I fear who will come in next.

I'm also not sure why there's a feeling of disengagement. I think  ours is just about the only Scottish club that has open meetings with the chairman since he has taken over and allowed an open forum for anyone to come along to get an update from the club, ask questions directly without being censored(we also had two recently with volunteers and fan groups with the investors), in addition before the games prior to covid there was two open bars to the public one with live music and one without for fans to come along to the club and socialise along with the disability group, the school engagement and marvs hub etc, they encourage people to come along. I also think we have an army of volunteers who work to keep the club going which shows commitment from people in the community for the love of the club from the board right down to the club shop there's allot off the field to be positive about(even though that positive stuff seems disregarded by people of forums and social media often enough. We also probably have the best off the field cost ratio of any  full time club I would think due to that army of volunteers.

In terms of the fans, the problem before the statement  was toxicity of the situation, the statement was obviously suppose to calm that down and had the opposite effect. On the field is a problem though and thats probably the most important thing at any football club. and it needs sorted asap.

Exactly @paradox

The be owners have full control of all assets and can decide what they want from now on.

After today’s statement I can see almost all off the clubs board leaving in the next week and new guys coming in..

I have said from the start investors don’t put their money into any company for a let’s say 5 year stint without getting paid back then it’s profit!

We would need to be making serious profit for that to happen given theres no assets to liquidate, Of course they could borrow and cream off the top (been done before). But i'm not sure we would be a viable option for any financial institution to give us any sort of lending.
