    Gordon McQueen

Sad to hear about both players poor health. Both were favourites of mine and great Scottish internationalists. I believe Lorimer was supposed to have the hardest shot in football in his day.

Looking at the prediction League there have been plenty of missed opportunities as well with low scoring throughout. Only Andy Carp can have something to smile about as he topped the winners podium with 22pts. No surprise - there were no winners of the golden goal!!!! Once again we have a change of league leader with Ian John regaining the top spot but just by 2pts from Sea Bass. With all the recent postponements there is still a few midweek games to catch up with, but if you don’t post I will use your original prediction where possible. If there any problems with your score - let me know and I’ll sort it out. Good luck for week 19. QoS v Pars

The Pars head off to Dumfries this weekend to play what is arguably one of best form teams in the Championship. All the more remarkable as they had a horrendous start to the season but have shown that with a really good run of fixtures and good form they are now sitting 4th in the table and in contention for a play off place. Indeed the form guide indicates that outwith Hearts and Arbroath who have taken 11pts from their last 5 games the Doonhammers have taken only a point less with 3 wins and a draw. The Pars recent form is slightly more patchy but they have managed to take 7pts from their last five games. However the Pars sit 2nd, 6pts ahead of Queens and while we have scored a goal more this season our defensive record is the best in the league with a GD of 8 and QoS with a GD of -10. The Pars are still likely to be without Dow (Long term) and Comrie but showed they have quality replacements with McDonald and Banks. Turner is still posted missing! Last outing was a Pars 3-2 win and with QoS counter attacking style I expect goals and a close game even though Palmerston is usually a dour affair. A close 2-1 Pars win for me. COYP

    John Robertson

John Robertson is reported as temporarily stepping down as manager of ICT on compassionate leave after suffering a family bereavement last week. Its good to see that ICT are going to support him regardless how long it takes. Robbo is one of the genuine guys out there as he would be a sad loss to the game, i'm sure everyone would wish him well.

    Lennon

Elements of cowardice imo, didn't want to be at the club and take responsibility when the inevitable happens and Rangers winning the league for the first time. Celtic have no chance of doing anything about that now. It will be interesting to see what gives in terms of a new appointment - I suspect Kennedy will be the new manager till the end of the season

    Pars v Wasps

Saturday brings the Wasps to EEP for the second game between the the two sides. Our last outing against the Wasps brought a comprehensive 1-4 victory for the Pars, and more of the same this weekend will be welcomed by the EEP faithful. Alloa have traditionally been a difficult team for the Pars to overcome and last outing apart games have always been tight. However Alloa sit bottom of the table with 12 points from 15 games. They have won 3 games this season and while they are not the lowest goal scorers - scoring 16 they have the worst GD conceding 34 goals and a GD of -18. However form is everything and as Pars fans know ours have been nothing special, indeed both teams over the past 5 games have only amassed a poor 5pts each. Perhaps the introduction of new striker Craig Wighton may give the Pars a new dimension up front. Indeed we cant afford another slip up like Arbroath if we are challenge for a play off place. A tight 2-1 win for the Pars - hopefully! COYP

    Pars v Wasps

I heard that OFW was getting blamed, but its clear that the Alloa goal was horribly deflected. It's worth pointing out that he made 2-3 excellent saves notably from the free kick in the first half.

For the first time in an age where have had a full card so evey game counts. Andrew Whitaker will be delighted with his score, and the astute use of a Joker to earn himself 26pts to blag top spot on the podium. And joining him we have three winners of the golden goal – Ian John Buffy & Eggy Eggy. Ian John will be chuffed with the bonus 5pts as he has regained the lead of the table but only by 2pts from SeaBass. With all the recent postponements there is still a few midweek games to catch up with, but if you don’t post I will use your original prediction where possible.
