With The Pars seeking a new manager, there is still lots going on at other clubs. Former Pars favorites "Super" Joe Cardle and Ryan Williamson have both left Partick. Joe has put a lot of effort into his academy so i wonder if he is looking to go part time. Kelty Hearts might be a good fit if they get promoted. Rizzo ,I hear may is possibly headed to Falkirk.

2-3 games in and Grant should have an idea where the problem areas are and what he needs to address them. ATM you would have to say that defensively is the weakest link but its early days yet and it takes time for a new system and players to gel. While we have players to come back in from long term injuries (Dow, Martin, McCann and Wilson) its not automatic that they will be able to return to their previous levels of fitness - albeit we all hope they do.

    Morton v Pars

The season kicks off in earnest on Sat when the Pars are visitors to an away fixture at Cappielow and face Morton. Apart from a rather glorious day when we won the league, Capplielow hasn't been the happiest of hunting grounds in recent years and last years 3 meetings were split even with a win, draw and a loss. This season the form guides are a bit scratchy with only recent Premier cup games to go on. Morton forfeited their tie against Stranraer due to Covid but were able to beat Clyde and draws against Killie and East Kilbride. The Pars won three games against Partick, Dumbarton and Stenhousemuir losing out to St Mirren. The Pars face this league campaign with a new manager in Peter Grant and are considered to be one of most favoured teams in the Championship. Grant has recruited well and built on Crawfords team from last year. Arguably we do seem to be stronger especially up front with 3 strikers in form. The Midfield has been strengthened with the addition of Dorran's and we seem to have adopted a system of play that the players enjoy. Injuries are never far away with long termers Dow Martin Wilson and McCann being possibly joined by Watson and Cole. However I feel reasonably confident of a Pars away win and will go for 3-1. COYP were undefeated with a 2 wins albeit one was a

There were that many points on offer this week in the Prediction League either! However, its Berry who takes the podium and well done to him. Last years Champion Andrew Whitaker wins the crowd bonus by being nearest with Cappielow managing only 821 supporters. There were no winners for the golden goal. Its still not too late to join in – just get your scores in for next weeks game As before if you are not sure about yor score let me know and I’ll look at it for you. Good luck for week 2. I see that Partick have signed Lewis Mayo on a seasons loan from Rangers. Thought he was really decent for us and was quite versatile in the positions he was asked to play.
